    Beau

Beau is a 70 lb. neutered male Pit Bull Terrier mix. Our veterinary partner estimated that Beau was 2 years old at the time of intake in September 2021. Beau is a super sweet, gentle, friendly boy who is good with people. Although Beau loves children, he’s a big guy who doesn’t know his own strength, so he would do best with teens and older.  This beautiful boy was shot in the mouth while a drug warrant was being served; fortunately, the bullet lodged in Beau’s neck in a spot that is not causing any pain or limitation. It was determined that it’s best left there as the surgery to remove it is dangerous.  Beau is a couch potato and LOVES to cuddle, is completely housebroken, enjoys car rides and does not chew or destroy anything (except for his toys which he loves to remove squeakers from). Beau would be perfect for a person or couple that doesn’t have other animals or has one submissive female (the only type of dogs he seems to get along with). He needs to be the center of attention so he can get all the love and attention he deserves. Beau is reactive to other dogs, so walking can be a bit challenging (he has a loud bark). Having a fenced in yard would be a plus.  Beau can truly be your forever, loyal best friend if you crave pure unconditional love.  You will be blessed to encounter this special guy.  If you would like to star in Beau’s new, improved life, please apply online to adopt Beau at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.

    Cloud

Cloud, born in March 2017, is a Boxer mix who comes into rescue from North Carolina – found in a kill shelter, emaciated and suffering from a life of neglect. She is a beautiful little petite pixie – 40 pounds of dynamite: a big personality in a small package!  She’s a total love bug and very affectionate with her people. She’s  house trained, crate trained, has great leash manners and knows basic commands. Extremely smart, Cloud learns quickly and is eager to please. A high- energy girl, she requires daily exercise and stimulation. A fenced-in yard is a must.  She does well with large dominant males who offer correction and leadership. She’s not a fan of cats or small dogs. Cloud has a prey drive and can be dog reactive. She must have a strong and confident leader. She is an absolute JOY, but not for a first pet or novice handler. She requires patience and direction. Her home must be exceptional because she is an exceptional dog!  She is spayed and up to date on vaccines. If you would like to be the lucky one who gets to give Cloud her happy ever after, please fill out an adoption application here.

    Shelly

Shelly, a beautiful Pittie, was rescued from Manhattan ACC where she had been brought in as a stray. Our veterinary partner estimates that Shelly was born in 2015.  She had broken teeth and was emaciated at only 24 pounds!!   Her foster mom has been taking such good care of her and she now is healthy and happy! Despite her obvious neglect, Shelly remains a very sweet and loving girl, and we can’t wait until she has a home to call her very own.   Shelly  is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, housebroken, crate trained and knows basic commands. This girl is super smart and would do well with an active family willing to take the time and make sure she gets enough of her favorite activity. . . chasing tennis balls!  Shelly is great with kids and people of all ages. She does not do well with cats, and a meet and greet is required if there are other dogs in the home.  Please apply online here if you are interested in adopting Shelly.
