Thank you for saving a life and adopting a rescue! We would love to match you with a great rescue dog. When you complete the application below, we will set up a time to talk with you, check your references requested on the form, vet and landlord and if all is satisfactory, we will schedule a home visit.

Puppy adoption fees

Adoption fees (no exceptions):

* Puppies up to 12 months $575

* 1 year through 4 years $500

* 4 years through 7 years – $450

* 7 years and above – $300

* Speciality Cases (determined on a case-by-case basis) – $700

To adopt from RDR:

You must reside in Northern VA, Northern DE, MD, Washington DC, PA, NY, NJ, CT, RI, MA, NH, ME, VT.
All current pets in the home must be spayed or neutered and up to date on required vaccines.
You must be at least 25 years old.

We start the application approval process as quickly as possible, as long as you have provided all the information requested. Given the volume of applications we receive, it may be a few days before you hear from us. We appreciate your patience.

I understand it is the organization’s prerogative to decide which home is the most appropriate and that their decision is final. I may be required to drive a reasonable distance (at least an hour, maybe more) to pick up my dog and that it may be necessary for me to do so within 48 hours.*

I am making a commitment to care for my dog for its lifetime, which could be 12-15 years or more.*

I commit to coordinate with RDR’s spay-neuter team to have my pup altered and microchipped by 6 months old, if for some reason (age or medical) this has not yet been done at the time of adoption. If alter is not completed by the time the pup is 6 months old, and there is no medical exemption, I understand that RDR reserves the right to nullify the adoption and remove the pet from me.*

My dog MUST be kept indoors and will not be chained/penned outside.*

I will be required to follow the decompression guidelines to help my dog adjust to my home and family that Rescue Dogs Rock NYC has provided me and which have been discussed with me during the adoption process.*

I will immediately notify RDR if the dog is lost, and I will make every reasonable effort to recover the dog.*

I may be required to work with a trainer of my choosing or one that Rescue Dogs Rock NYC recommends – at my own expense - if my dog has difficulty adjusting to its new environment.*

I will provide proper medical/veterinary care, including yearly wellness checks, required vaccinations and monthly heartworm preventative meds, as well as veterinary care for unusual symptoms.*

If for any reason I am unable to keep my dog, I will contact Rescue Dogs Rock NYC and undergo - at minimum - a 14-day waiting period in which representatives from Rescue Dogs Rock NYC will work with me to resolve any issues with the dog.*

I will not give or sell the dog to any other person, rescue group, humane association, shelter or similar organization.*

A representative from the organization may visit the dog to ensure that it is well taken care of; if they find that the dog has been neglected or abused in any way or for any reason, Rescue Dogs Rock NYC reserves the right to remove the dog from the premises, at which time ownership rights automatically transfer back to Rescue Dogs Rock NYC.RDR*
