Here at Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, we don’t just save the easy ones; we focus on saving the more difficult, the most urgent, critically injured and expensive dogs to save. Why? Because there are too many companion animals with medical and emotional needs that have been victims of cruelty, abuse and neglect that will never leave the shelter alive due to their needs all too often because of the funding & long-term commitment involved in rescuing them. Shelters just do not have funds to address these concerns.
As announced one short month ago, we have acquired our own rescue and rehabilitation center in Suffolk County on Long Island giving us our own home for our dogs in need. This will allow us to save many more needy and deserving dogs. The center sits on half an acre and allows indoor/outdoor kennels and has lots of outdoor space. That is the good news and why we chose this particular property. This has been 3 years in the making, so we are very excited to have come this far. Now the real work comes in as the center is in disrepair and has nothing done to it in probably 30 years. It really needs to be gutted and rebuilt. We need bigger and more modern kennels & air conditioning to start. We want it to be a comfortable oasis for these dogs who have already been through so much.
Our new rescue center will cost approximately $350,000 to get it where it needs to be and ready to open and start taking in dogs. We have hired a general contractor & are very excited to get started with this huge undertaking. Will you help us get our facility up and running?
NO amount is too little!
TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your ongoing support. We could not take this huge step without you.

Handsome Justus is a four year-old pit mix with a real love for life. He had a rough start in life, and was found on a chain with no fur, and no use of his back legs due to a spine injury caused by blunt force trauma. Sweet Justus simply adores every single person he meets, so much that he would love to be the only dog in his new home and have the undivided attention he so deserves. If you’re ready to give this boy unconditional love and show him all the luxuries life has to offer, apply to meet him today! To apply to adopt Justus: fill out an application here.
Cloud, born in March 2017, is a Boxer mix who comes into rescue from North Carolina – found in a kill shelter, emaciated and suffering from a life of neglect. She is a beautiful little petite pixie – 40 pounds of dynamite: a big personality in a small package! She’s a total love bug and very affectionate with her people. She’s house trained, crate trained, has great leash manners and knows basic commands. Extremely smart, Cloud learns quickly and is eager to please. A high- energy girl, she requires daily exercise and stimulation. A fenced-in yard is a must. She does well with large dominant males who offer correction and leadership. She’s not a fan of cats or small dogs. Cloud has a prey drive and can be dog reactive. She must have a strong and confident leader. She is an absolute JOY, but not for a first pet or novice handler. She requires patience and direction. Her home must be exceptional because she is an exceptional dog! She is spayed and up to date on vaccines. If you would like to be the lucky one who gets to give Cloud her happy ever after, please fill out an adoption application here.
Shelly, a beautiful Pittie, was rescued from Manhattan ACC where she had been brought in as a stray. Our veterinary partner estimates that Shelly was born in 2015. She had broken teeth and was emaciated at only 24 pounds!! Her foster mom has been taking such good care of her and she now is healthy and happy! Despite her obvious neglect, Shelly remains a very sweet and loving girl, and we can’t wait until she has a home to call her very own. Shelly is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, housebroken, crate trained and knows basic commands. This girl is super smart and would do well with an active family willing to take the time and make sure she gets enough of her favorite activity. . . chasing tennis balls! Shelly is great with kids and people of all ages. She does not do well with cats, and a meet and greet is required if there are other dogs in the home. Please apply online here if you are interested in adopting Shelly.
